2 men, 6 women
The Hallelujah Girls are back! In this laugh-out-loud, rollicking crowd-pleaser, Sugar Lee,
Carlene, Nita, Mavis and Crystal are hip-deep in comic crises and challenges.
These fierce females of Eden Falls face down rivals, an ex-mother-in-law and a soon-to-be-ex-husband as they chase a new dream:
franchising their day spa, Spa-Dee-Dah, across the state of Georgia. But Glorietta DeWitt, the ruthless owner of DeWitt's
Delights, smells an opportunity -- and out-witting DeWitt to protect Crystal's secret chocolate cookie recipe (which is the key
to the spa's success) looks to be a much more difficult task than they thought.
And all of this would have to happen during the hectic preparations for the big Azalea Festival, Eden Falls' most important event of
the year. Nita was already having an absurdly hard time organizing the gathering, but Mavis' loathed husband Miller's vow to
sabotage the entire event threatens to turn everything into a floral fiasco. And Carlene being forced to compete for the Ms. Azalea
crown against the fifteen-times-in-a-row winner, the ultra-pretentious Bunny Sutherland, is just the cherry on top of the pudding.
Especially since Bunny is actually competing from her county jail cell and is out for revenge against all the girls. But these
marvelous middle-aged women are in it to win it, and devoted to the unwritten motto of their spa-away-from-home: "It's never too
late to follow your dreams and be the person you were meant to be."
However, making those words a reality will be an unstoppably hilarious roller coaster ride for them all. Add in Hardy Womble, a
stranger in town with a big secret of his own, and Sugar Lee's boyfriend Bobby Dwayne's determination to propose to his woman
at any and all opportunities, and you've got a riotous and laugh-packed comedy that will make you feel chicken-fried-fabulous
yourself!
This ferociously funny Jones Hope Wooten sequel to The Hallelujah Girls - and a stand-alone play in its own right - is full of
so much heart it will have you leaving the theatre realizing just how 'Spa-delicious' life really is.
